The British Council is seeking an Executive Officer to provide support to the Country Director Pakistan, Deputy Director Pakistan, and the senior leadership team in the Islamabad office. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of British Council Pakistan as a high-performing country operation, model the values and principles of a collaborative, integrated, and mutually supportive team, and provide administrative assistance to Security and Facilities.


Main Accountabilities:

  1. Provide administrative support to Director Pakistan, Deputy Director, and UKA colleagues in Islamabad.
  2. Act as a liaison point for the British Deputy High Commission, including the Deputy High Commissioner and Deputy Head of Mission's private offices.
  3. Oversee and organize travel arrangements, diary management, and appointment scheduling, arrange staff meetings, and handle inbound and outbound mail to support Country Director & Deputy Director.
  4. Act as an official log keeper as part of the incident management team and support the upkeep of key documents, including business continuity plans, crisis management plans, and other critical documents.
  5. Support the management of international visits to Pakistan, coordinating with the Directorate and business leads to develop and manage high-quality visit programs.
  6. Support events and activities for the Directorate, including managing guest lists and invitations, supporting logistical arrangements, and ensuring British Council event management standards are met.
  7. Maintain and regularly update the country database of key UK and Pakistan stakeholders.
  8. Provide logistical support for senior leadership team meetings, regional team meetings and teleconferences, and other national meetings as and when required, including the production of official minutes as and when required.
  9. Act as a focal point for communication with UKVI to support visa applications for stakeholders travelling to the UK under the auspices of the British Council, including managing and improving the visa support letter and application tracking process.
  10. Act with the highest professionalism, ensuring tact, sensitivity, and confidentiality at all times.
